Located at Bodmin Airfield (EGLA)

We’re nestled 3.5 nm northeast of Bodmin, Cornwall, just off the A30, on the stunning edge of Bodmin Moor. Operated by the Cornwall Flying Club Ltd, this charming airfield dates back to 1972 when Mike Robertson, the founder of Trago Mills, envisioned making aviation accessible to all. In 1978 it became a not-for-profit operation, focused on community and flying education.

With two grass runways (03/21 at 480 m and 13/31 at 610 m), a control tower, and a welcoming clubhouse, the airfield supports flight training, maintenance, and buzzing community events.

A Storied Past, A Thriving Present

• 1972 – The airfield opens on former Treswithick Farm as Trago Mills aviation dream
  
• 1978 – Transferred to Cornwall Flying Club Ltd., maintaining its non-profit ethos.
  
• 1980s – Home to the Trago Mills SAH-1 military trainer, designed on-site.
  
• 2021 – Endured a hangar fire; rapid community action saved aircraft, and the club facilities (including our future café space).
  

Today, Bodmin attracts pilots, families, and visitors drawn to flight training, scenic pleasure flights, vintage aeroplane events, and community gatherings.

Open Tuesday to Sunday from 09:30 – 15:30
